Latin American and Caribbean Women’s Health Network (LACWHN) reaffirms its commitment to promote this regional campaign on violence against women, emphasizing especially the impact of this problem on their comprehensive health
LACWHN is involved in a three year campaign aimed at denouncing and documenting the undeniable connection between gender-based violence and its direct impacts on the comprehensive health of the women and girls affected. For more information please click here.

- 25 Nov 2006, Altos de Cazucá de Soacha: Comparsa de mujeres en el marco de la campaña cazuza vive. Organizaciones de mujeres expresarán el 25 de noviembre a través de comparsas, temas relacionados con la violencia contra las mujeres y mecanismos de denuncia en defensa de sus derechos. Organizado por Proyecto de mujeres UNIFEM–ACNUR.
- 5 Dec 2006, Bogotá: Mesa de Género, SNU. Presentación del Informe del Secretario General, "Estudio a profundidad sobre todas las formas de violencia contra las mujeres". El evento incluirá el lanzamiento de las fichas de información 2006 de UNIFEM sobre "Situación de las Mujeres en Colombia". Organizado por UNIFEM y Mesa de Género, SNU.
- Date- TBD: Hermanamiento Campañas Violencia contra las Mujeres.Campañas de Alcaldía, Lazo Blanco y UNIFEM articulan acciones conjuntas en un Evento de Hermanamiento.
- Date- TBD, Bogotá: Jóvenes a favor de los derechos de las mujeres. Con el apoyo de un Colectivo de Mujeres Jóvenes Feministas se llevarán a cabo actividades en diferentes barrios de Bogotá (Soacha, Bosa, Santa Fé, Mártires) con el objetivo de descentralizar actividades en el marco de los 16 D ías. HAITI
Dwa Fanm, a Haitian women’s rights organization committed to empowering women and young girls, will hold a series of events throughout the course of the 16 days campaign. Every single day, beginning November 25th through December 10th, Dwa Fanm will feature the name and photo of a woman or man on their website. Other events include an interactive radio show that will feature specific steps the community can take to end violence against women: on November 25th, a screening of "Celebrating Women's Resistance: International Campaign on Women Human Rights Defenders," on November 29th, a Screening of "Children of the Streets" (Kalfou Plezi Pye Devan); a film by Rachele Magloire, which deals with the issue of HIV/AIDS among the children of Haiti on December 1st. Also on December 1st there will be a Moment of Silence at 16 Colleges and Universities throughout New York City remembering the victims of Montreal massacre. In addition to these events, Dwa Fanm will honor 16 women and men who have shown courage in the movement to denounce violence against women in our communities. Dwa Famn is also organizing 16 Days of Pledges and wish for all to send their pledge letters with a statement on violence against women.
