- September 2006: The UN Secretary General's in-depth study on violence against women is now available on the Division for the Advancement of Women (DAW) website as a background document for the 61st session of the General Assembly: http://www.un.org/womenwatch/daw/vaw/. The presentation to the Third Committee of the General Assembly and launch is scheduled for Monday, October 9, 2006. In preparing the study, the DAW solicited input through a variety of means, e.g. holding expert group meetings, forming an advisory committee and creating an NGO taskforce. The Center for Women's Global Leadership was a member of the NGO taskforce and Executive Director, Charlotte Bunch, served on the international advisory committee. Please visit this webpage for further updates on NGO activities related to the release of the study.
