The Indivisibility
of Women's Human Rights: A Continuing Dialogue
This
book presents the voices and perspectives of women around
the world that came together to discuss women's leadership
in areas of women's human rights at the 1994 Women's Global
Leadership Institute (WGLI). Leaders of international NGOs
provide cogent analyses of the utility of the human rights
framework for activists internationally, including information
about documenting, lobbying and demanding accountability for
gender-based human rights abuses. This book also relates the
critical reflections and strategies for action developed by
participants in workshops. Topics addressed include violence
against women, social and economic justice, reproductive and
health rights, and diversity and leadership in women's organizing
activities.
