Gender Violence and Womens Rights in Africa

This important document compiles the ideas and strategies put forth by some of Africa's foremost women's human rights activists at a symposium convened by the Center for Women's Global Leadership. It presents a theoretical and strategic framework for addressing women's human rights and includes articles on topics such as: tools of suppression; culture as a human rights concern; and intervention strategies.
