Originally from small town Ohio, MaryBeth moved to NYC to pursue a career advancing gender equality and women’s rights. In the past she has worked in operations positions while volunteering regularly for She’s the First, Amnesty International, and completing her M.S. in global affairs at NYU. In obtaining her graduate degree she is conducting research in Lebanon to assess the higher education needs for Syrian refugees. She loves learning about the world, reading, writing, hiking, playing the piano, and traveling--the last few years have taken her to Ghana, Uganda, Italy, Switzerland, and Costa Rica.
